Sleepy Hollow
An autumn evening of music and classic storytelling in historic Bedford Village
Thursday, October 29
Washington Irving's tale unfolds across Bedford Village.
Six-time GRAMMY®-nominated Skylark brings its musical retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to Bedford for an evening that moves through some of the village's most historic places.
Ichabod Crane begins as a schoolmaster. What follows is music, courtship, superstition, a ride through the darkness, and his mysterious disappearance.

The School House
A conversation about Irving, music and storytelling
The full evening begins inside Bedford's 1829 School House, where Skylark Artistic Director Matthew Guard joins John Swansburg, Managing Editor of The Atlantic, for a conversation about Irving and the making of this program: abridging the text, finding its musical world, and weaving story and music into a single arc.
A longtime reader of Irving, Swansburg has written about Rip Van Winkle for The Atlantic and even named his son Rip.
Limited to 30 guests.
